Homemade Salsa

1/2 red onion, finely chopped
1 (14 ounce) can tomatoes, diced with chiles, drained
1 tomato, freshly diced
2 scallions, finely chopped
1 jalapeno, seeded, deveined, and finely chopped
1/2 cup cilantro, finely chopped
1 lime, juiced
salt and freshly ground black pepper

Directions:
1 Chop vegetables.
2 Combine the tomatoes, onions, scallions, jalapeno, cilantro, salt and lime juice in a mixing bowl.
3 Stir until evenly mixed.Store in refrigerator until ready to serve with chips or your favorite Tex-Mex dish.
